Is my TV okay for a PS5?
The PS5 can output in 1080p and 4K, so if you've got a set that is either you should be fine. If you want to get the most out of the console, you'll need an HDMI 2.1 compatible TV with a 120hz refresh rate.
Will a 60hz TV work for PS5?
Typically speaking, yes, it will. Again, while it'll look great it won't look as good as a higher refresh rate TV set. But, it also depends on the games you play. If you're planning to play slow-paced leisure games or RPGs that are heavy on graphics, a 60Hz TV would work fine.
Is 4K or 144hz better for PS5?
A common misunderstanding is that these are two different measurements. 4K is the resolution and 144hz is the refresh rate.

How much should you spend on a TV for PS5?
This is completely up to you depending on your budget of course, but typically to get a TV that delivers 120hz, VRR, ALLM, and several other game-enhancing features, anything between 700 - 1500 should be a good range.
Since HDMI 2.1 technology is still somewhat new on the scene, it may be a while before we see some of the best 120hz TVs for gaming drop in price, as we did with 4K UHD.

Do you need HDMI 2.1 for PS5?
Actually... no, not if you want to play in 4K at 60hz on compatible devices. This is basically one level up from a PS4 Pro, but you're also getting the lightning-quick loading times and improved graphics.

HDMI 2.1 is needed for 120fps at 4K and 60fps at 8K.
Should you get an 8K TV now?
There are some outstanding 8K TVs on the market today, but whether you should get one now is not as straightforward as you'd think.
We'd say it's a little early in the game to go for an 8K TV, as it hasn't been 'unlocked' on PS5 just yet and will probably come later down the line.

What are the TV requirements for PS5?

To be honest, there aren't any hard and fast rules from Sony when it comes to what TV specs you need for PS5, but it's recommended that you have a 4K TV that can output at 120Hz, or in other words, that supports HDMI 2.1.

You can of course use basically any TV with a resolution of 720p upwards, but to get the full experience, opting for something more powerful would be your best bet.
Do I buy a TV or Monitor for PS5?
Deciding whether to go for a TV or a fantastic monitor for your PS5 can be quite the challenge, so let's break it down.
TVs, like the ones we've got listed above, are brilliant for larger spaces like living rooms, so if your console is going in a lounge, then we'd say to opt for a powerful gaming TV so you also don't miss out on any of the features that monitors have like VRR.
