Does Pokémon Unite Have Cross-Play And Cross-Progression?

Thankfully, it's a resounding yes and when these mobile editions launch, both will be available from day one. To do this, players can use their Pokémon Trainer Club account or Nintendo account on these platforms to share progress, providing a connected ecosystem.

There's only one caveat to this. While players can players can carry over progress across different devices, any Gems you've purchased - the premium Pokémon Unite currency - won't carry over. However, any content you've purchased with gems will be shared between your devices, so it's not a big problem.

What Is Cross-Play And Cross-Progression in Pokémon Unite?

Cross-play and cross-progression are buzzwords that are thrown around a lot, but what do they actually mean?

Cross-play is simple, it simply means that you are able to play with other people who are using different devices from your own. So Switch players will be able to play in a lobby with mobile players on iOS and Android devices.

Cross-progression is slightly more rare in games, but it means that your progress - that's battle pass levels, unlocked characters, and similar - carries over if you log in on another device. So whether you're swapping over to your Switch Lite or mobile phone when you leave the house, your progress will be there for you to continue. Obviously the only item that doesn't carry over is Gems, as we mentioned earlier.

That's everything we know about Pokémon Unite cross-play and cross-progression so far! Now grab your device and get going.
