Pokémon Unite Absol Build - Cutting Psycho

Best Items Best Moves
Eject ButtonLv. 1: Feint
Scope LensLv. 3: Slash
Attack WeightLv. 5 Pursuit
Float StoneLv. 7 Psycho Cut

Best for: Jungle/ganking

By far the most popular Pokémon Unite Absol build revolves around using the Pokémon's speed to both score and rip through individual targets like butter. By leveraging the buffs of Psycho Cut and Pursuit, Absol can clean out opponents in a single combo if luck is on its side. Just train up in the jungle and become the apex predator.

This relatively basic Absol build is easy to understand and not too difficult to pull off. It doesn't have much in the way of survivability, but given it's designed to knock an opponent out before they have a chance to deal much damage, that shouldn't be a problem.

Just make sure to be a sneaky assassin: you want to get in fast, undetected, and from behind. To do that, just linger in the bushes. Wait for an enemy to pass by, throw in Psycho Cut to increase your attacks and deal some decent damage, then dash in with Pursuit and land that all-important back attack.

If it's a Critical Hit, you might just score an instant kill on the game's softer, top-tier ranged attackers or supports. For bulkier targets, the next two Basic Attacks should be more than enough to knock them out.

If you don't land the kill in a few shots, the reduced cooldown from landing the back attack should have Pursuit back up and ready in no time, giving you a second chance at success, a way to disengage, or even a chance to make a dash for the goal before someone comes to ruin your fun.

That last push will activate Attack Weight, making your even deadlier the next time prey comes calling.

Pokémon Unite Absol Build - Playground Bully

Best Items Best Moves
Eject ButtonLv. 1: Feint
Scope LensLv. 3: Slash
Float StoneLv. 5: Pursuit
Attack WeightLv. 7: Sucker Punch

Best for: One-on-one duels

This Pokémon Unite Absol build is infinitely more than relying on Basic Attacks to defeat your opponents. It absolutely needs them, but it instead uses technical knowledge and timing to increase Absol's survivability simply by absorbing its target's first attempt to fight back. The better you know your opponent, the better you'll feel playing this one.

There's method to Absol's single-minded madness here. Though its attacks can certainly be played in either order, using Sucker Punch right after Pursuit opens up a number of interesting strategies.

The boosted back attack of Pursuit can be all but guaranteed by using Sucker Punch before making an attempt on the Pokémon's life. Using Pursuit from behind will face you back onto your lane, allowing Sucker Punch to bait and cancel your target's potential defensive stance and jump you to the opposite side, launching the target further down your lane.

Bouncing your foe towards your goal might not sound like a great idea, but you'll ideally be sending them in for your team to finish off. This big brain move can even simply get the Pokémon away from you long enough to score, activating Attack Weight and making a case for the extra mobility of Eject Button or X Speed.

Later on, Sucker Punch will boost your attack speed, making it easier to put down any launched foe before they get away.

When Does Pokémon Unite Absol Evolve?

What Is the Best Counter to Absol in Pokémon Unite?

Pokémon Reason
SnorlaxSnorlax can block and stun Absol, keeping it from harassing the team too much. Putting it to sleep enabled the team to exact revenge as well. Snorlax itself can easily withstand its burst.
SlowbroResisting its burst just by purely forgetting to take the damage, Slowbro can Surf an Absol in waiting and swiftly pick it up, allowing the team to burst it down in return.

Because of its relatively new place in the meta, Absol currently doesn't have that many hard counters identified. It's designed to do heavy burst damage, which means easy counters are those that can comfortably survive its assault and peel it away from those less able to do so. Snorlax and Slowbro do well here.

What is the Best Absol Pair in Pokémon Unite?

Pokémon Reason
PikachuPikachu can easily slow opponents before you dive in, reducing the need to rely on Pursuit cooldowns to chase.
Alolan NinetalesWhile not as apt at dealing preliminary damage when it gets its slowing attacks out, Alolan Ninetales has an easier time keeping enemies rooted. A big ice wall helps, of course.
Mr. MimeOnce you start a fight with a tank, they're unlikely to leave you alone for a while. This gives Mr. Mime a great opportunity to steal their high defensive stats. Absol can then rip through them like butter.

Absol benefits from any Pokémon that can increase its time on a target. Defenders that can step in if the battle doesn't go its way are a big help as well. Pokémon like Pikachu and Alolan Ninetales can slow targets down, giving Absol more time to strike. Mr. Mime can easily reduce a defender's defense, making them just as susceptible to Absol's onslaught as any other Pokémon.
