Some Of Bayonetta 3's Mechanics Are Reminiscent Of Scalebound, Claims Former Platinum Dev

After four years of silence, an official Bayonetta 3 trailer was released in yesterday's Nintendo Direct showcase.

Since then, it's been revealed that the anticipated sequel utilises some mechanics inspired by PlatinumGames' cancelled Xbox project, Scalebound.

Some Of Bayonetta 3's Mechanics Are Reminiscent Of Scalebound, Claims Former Platinum Dev

As seen on Twitter, JP Kellams, a former developer from Platinum Games, spoke about how Bayonetta 3 director Yusuke Miyata worked as a "super talented" lead designer for Scalebound.

Then Kellams added that some of the mechanics seen on the trailer of the game looked similar to what Miyata did in Scalebound. In a follow-up reply, they advised:

Yeah... The controlling the summons thing looks VERY similar to a mechanic that we had in Scalebound to control Thuban. Now that I've gotten to rewatch the trailer, I'm really psyched for that. :)
