Sonic Frontiers could be be Sonic 2022's official name, following the discovery of a new website domain and the game's trademarking last month. Announced back in May, this entry was initially rumoured to be called Sonic Rangers, though even now, we've only got minimal information.

As spotted by Wccftech, the new website is for Sonic Frontiers, but it currently only shows a “403 Forbidden” message. Right now, it denies access when visited by a public user. Combined with the previous trademark, many believe a new announcement is imminent.

Sonic Frontiers Domain Gets Registered, Prompting Announcement Speculation

Back in November, Twitter user @Renka_schedule posted the trademarking of the rumoured Sonic title. The game was teased during the Sonic Central 30th-anniversary stream, revealed as the event's last announcement.

Since then, we've heard nothing about the upcoming game, but this website reveal could time up with The Game Awards 2021. That's happening on December 9th, live-streamed from the Microsoft Theater in Los, Angeles, California. Make sure to follow us for more gaming news and updates as it happens.
