During an earnings call, Sony revealed plans to release 10 live-service games by March 2026. That announcement follows news of Sony acquiring Bungie for multi-platform titles and live-service games, with the latter now seemingly coming into play.
According to this latest report, Sony plans to generate revenue by releasing those live-service games over several years. Live-service games often rely on players spending real money on in-game currency and cosmetic items, as titles like Fortnite and Destiny 2 have shown.
Sony Plans to Release Ten Live-Service Games By March 2026
We've already seen numerous live-service games across the PS4 and PS5, but none are published or developed by Sony. While Bungie is just part of this wider plan, it looks like we'll get quite a lot in the next four years.
Right now, none of these 10 Sony live-service games have been announced, though given the wider timeframe provided, that's not surprising either. For now, Bungie fans can enjoy Destiny 2 free-to-play on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and Google Stadia. Fans can also expect The Witch Queen expansion later this month.
