Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl: How To Unlock Mystery Gifts and Codes, Including Manaphy and Phione

In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you can unlock and use the Mystery Gift function to get special items or Pokémon. For those who have ordered the game before 21st of February 2022, the Manaphy, Phione and Platinum Outfit are up for grabs. There'll likely be more in the future, too!

So, without further ado, here's how to unlock the Mystery Gift function and get these items in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

How To Get Mystery Gifts

First and foremost, your game of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl will need a stable internet connection to be able to get Mystery Gifts. You will also have needed to collect your first Gym Badge by battling with Gym Leader Roark at Oreburgh City, and then battled Team Galactic at the path between Jubilife City and Route 204.

With this out of the way, after approximately two hours of gameplay, you'll be able to visit the Jubilife TV Center to unlock the Mystery Gift function. To unlock it, do the following:

• Speak to the brown-haired man next to a blonde woman on the second floor of the Jubilife TV Center.
• Select 'Everyone Happy Wi-Fi Connection'.

After this brief interaction, the Mystery Gift function will appear in your menu when you press 'X'!

How To Get Manaphy

Now, to actually collect your Manaphy Egg, do the following:

• Select 'Mystery Gift' from the menu.
• Select 'Get via Internet'.
• Select the Manaphy Egg to collect it!

Now, all you need to do is begin walking and continue battling across the Sinnoh Region with the Manaphy Egg in your party. A short while afterward, you will hatch and unlock a Manaphy!

How To Get the Platinum Outfit

To get your hands on the Platinum Outfit, the process is exactly the same as above. This time, you'll obviously be required to select 'Platinum Outfit'. The outfit will then unlock, and you'll be able to equip it by going to change clothes at the Metronome Style Shop in Veilstone City.

How To Get Phione

First things first, you will need to have unlocked Manaphy to be able to unlock Phione in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. You will also need to have caught a Ditto to be able to successfully unlock Phione.

After acquiring both of the Pokémon, keep playing the game until you reach the Pokémon Nursery in Solaceon Town. This will take approximately around ten hours of gameplay to reach. Once here, do the following:

• Place Manaphy and Ditto into the nursery.
• Wait until the two Pokémon create an egg.
• Hatch the egg to unlock your Phione!
