When they’re not tinkering with their power armour or trying on quirky glasses, Fallout 4 players can often be found searching for new weapons to try out.

After all, when you’re constantly heading off on interesting quests to dangerous areas filled with mutated creatures and bloodthirsty raiders you’ll have to blast or bash your way through in order to earn valuable loot, you can never be too well-armed.

If you’re a vault dweller who can’t wait to delve into Fallout London when it arrives later this year, a new mod from some of its creators is definitely worth taking a look at.

Fancy getting a bit of a preview of Fallout London by trying out this gun in Fallout 4?

The mod in question is called ‘The Lewis Gun’ and is the work of a group of modders from the project led by accomplished weapons specialist Neeher. Some of the latter’s previous standalone projects have added a futuristic Photon Disruptor and some killer unique power armour to your prospective loadout.

This time, the weapon on offer to your Sole Survivor is a light machine gun from World War One, which you might remember from Fallout London’s latest progress showcase video, released earlier this year.

Serving as a bit of a preview for the full Fallout London experience, which it’ll also show up in, the gun features an array of custom animations, a unique rotating pan magazine and optional modifications that can switch up how it handles or even turn it into an energy weapon, all of which you can get a taste of in the video below.

If it looks like an armament that would fit your character’s preferred fighting style, you’ll need to head to the super mutant-infested military installation Fort Strong, where a model has been mounted on the wall of an office.

Once you’ve grabbed this first model, you’ll be able to craft as many Lewis Guns as your material stash will allow via any chemistry station.

You might also encounter a few versions of it in the hands of enemies from level 25 onwards, with the team having added it to the game’s list of weapons eligible to receive legendary variants.

Regardless of whether you’re now getting to grips with some fresh firepower ahead of your voyage to Blighty, make sure to follow us for more updates on interesting mods like this one for Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas. You can also check out our mods of the month for March 2023.
