With the remake of Resident Evil 4 arriving at the end of last week, it’s a great time to be a horror game buff in search of something to play with the lights off and scare yourself silly.

Some of these fearless fans have already begun messing around with mods for the game, bringing the likes of John Wick star Keanu Reeves, Thomas the Tank Engine and even some pandas to it.

However, if you’re the kind of hardcore horror lover that simply likes to set the game to the highest difficulty possible, pick out your favourite weapon and dive into the terrifying action, an interesting strategy recently deployed by a streamer might be worth taking a look at.

Are you going to try becoming a fearsome egg-flinger in the Resident Evil 4 Remake?

The Twitch broadcaster in question is Larxa, who has spent the week since the game was released playing through it on hardcore and pro difficulties.

During her latest stream, however, the streamer decided to take on the boss fight against Ramon Salazar that takes place near the end of chapter 12 without using the arsenal of guns in her inventory.

Having stocked up on plenty of other supplies, possibly in case the eggs didn’t quite get the job done, Larxa entered Salazar’s chamber and, as you can see in the clip below, quickly ended up speechless as her duo of golden eggs reduced the boss to a quivering corpse.

In hindsight she concluded that even using a pair of them might have been overkill, tweeting: “One egg does (a level of) damage (equivalent to 70% of Salazar’s health) so even one is enough.” and adding “This works (on) every difficulty too, I was on hardcore.”

That said, Larxa’s strategy is far from fool proof, with the streamer having had to reload her saves a couple of times after failing to hit Salazar with the egg in exactly the right spot, before eventually scoring the killing bullseye.

If you end up feeling bad for Salazar after throwing an entire coop’s worth of eggs at him, you might also want to check out a new mod from Kira5z, called ‘Salazar gets his hat back’, which, as you might imagine, gives the villain back his headgear from the original game.
